Summer Flea Control Options:

A Three-Step Method for a Flea-Free Summer

Few creatures living on the earth today have had as much impact on world history as the common flea. From the black plague during the 14th century to the present, fleas have been a tough problemā especially for pet owners.

Though we haven't figured out how to completely eliminate fleas, in the last few years science has made some tremendous advances in helping pets, and their owners, cope with these pesky parasites.

The best approach to coping with fleas is still the three-step method.

First, address fleas on the pet. In recent years, a number of products have been introduced that are truly among the most effective and important formulations in the war against fleas. Ask us about which product is right for you and your pet, as different products have different benefits, all with the intent of eliminating the flea problem and making life much easier for dogs and catsā and their owners. Prevention is the best control for fleas.

If your pet(s) should develop a flea problem you will need to continue with the other to steps to eliminate the problem from you pet and your environment.

After appropriately treating you pet you will need to address your pet's inside environment. Simply vacuuming and thoroughly washing any bedding your pet uses may be sufficient. However, there are safe and effective compounds that can be applied to carpets when the flea problem is really persistent.

Finally, your pet's outside environment may need to be addressed. Excellent compounds are available that can be applied directly to the soil in moist, shady areas around the house where immature fleas are most likely to live. These compounds are reasonably priced, long-lasting and environmentally friendly.
