What’s Included in My Pet’s Wellness Visit?
Our cat and dog wellness exams include a thorough nose-to-tail evaluation by our skilled Lake Villa veterinarians. These visits are your opportunity to catch small issues before they become big problems—and give your pet the preventive care they need to thrive. Typical wellness visits may include:
- Comprehensive physical exam
- Age-appropriate vaccinations (core and lifestyle-based)
- Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
- Intestinal parasite screening (fecal testing)
- Wellness bloodwork and urinalysis (especially for adult and senior pets)
- Nutritional guidance and behavior recommendations
- Time to discuss any questions or concerns about your pet’s health
Every recommendation is made based on your pet’s lifestyle, risk factors, and health history. No cookie-cutter care here—just smart, personalized medicine for your best friend.

Puppy & Kitten Care: Start Your New Companion Off Right
Welcoming a new pet? We’re here to guide you every step of the way. Our puppy and kitten wellness programs include a series of visits for vaccinations, deworming, and early development checkups. We’ll also talk you through spaying/neutering, microchipping, and setting your new pet up with the best possible start in life—socially, nutritionally, and medically.

Adult Pet Wellness: Stay a Step Ahead of Illness
Between 1 and 7 years of age, pets are in their prime—but that doesn’t mean they don’t need regular care. Annual wellness exams help us monitor their health, administer timely boosters, and continue year-round parasite prevention for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. Routine screenings like bloodwork can detect early changes and help us tailor care before symptoms arise.

Senior Pet Wellness: Gentle Care for Golden Years
Once your pet reaches age 7 (or earlier for some large breeds), they officially enter their golden years. Senior wellness visits include a deeper look into their overall health, with more frequent checkups and baseline lab testing to evaluate organ function, thyroid levels, and more. We’ll help you manage age-related changes like arthritis, weight shifts, or behavior changes with empathy and expertise.
